Kincardine Real Estate and Homes for Sale

As a real estate agent who specializes in Kincardine, let me be your guide to what Kincardine Ontario has to offer as a neighbourhood to finding homes for sale in the area.

Is walking along the beach at sunset your idea of relaxation? Then Kincardine is the place to call home. Located on the shores of Lake Huron in Bruce County, the Town of Kincardine is part of the larger Municipality of Kincardine, which also includes Kincardine Township and Bruce Township. The areas were amalgamated after government restructuring in 1999.

While the economy of Kincardine is dominated by the Bruce Nuclear Power Development there is also a thriving tourist industry with an emphasis on the town's sandy beaches, gorgeous sunsets and historic Scottish culture.

Kincardine is an active community with many activities for the whole family. Walkers will love the marked trails that wind all along the Penetangore River leading to the downtown core. There are also gymnastic facilities, a skateboard park, a curling rink and tennis courts, while golfers can take their pick from five excellent area courses.

The marina is a "can't miss" focal point in town. Operated by the Kincardine Yacht Club, it offers 154 slips, including 20 for visiting day-use boats. The Kincardine lighthouse, which was built in 1881 to protect ships using the busy harbour, is still a local landmark. The beautiful lakeside boardwalk on the south side of the harbour is the ideal place for enjoying a spectacular view of Lake Huron and its breathtaking sunsets.

Summer brings visitors to the Kincardine Summer Music Festival for classical and jazz music. Other tourist events, such as the Kincardine Scottish Festival and Highland Games, the Massed Pipe Band Gathering, Fish Kincardine Derby and Doors Open Kincardine, also take place each year.

Kincardine's original town hall is now known as the Kincardine Centre for the Arts and is home to the Bluewater Summer Playhouse and the Kincardine Theatre Guild, as well as the Victoria Park Arts Gallery and the Scougall Collection of heritage photography. Victoria Park, located immediately behind the old town hall, is a popular location for several events each year including Saturday evening summer concerts with the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band.

With its mix of local shopping, beautiful beaches and recreational activities, Kincardine attracts both active families and mature adults who appreciate the town's reasonable housing prices. Whether you're looking for a historic house and garden or a family-friendly home in a new subdivision, Kincardine offers something for everyone.
